About Cover-Alls

Cover-Alls, originally known as Car Floats, is our reinvented line of decorative car art that brings a creative twist to vehicle customization.

The concept was inspired by the innovative "House Floats" that emerged throughout New Orleans during Mardi Gras 2021. With traditional parades halted by the pandemic, locals transformed their homes into vibrant floats, a movement that spread like wildfire and brought much-needed joy and spirit to the city. This creativity sparked the idea to extend this artistic expression to cars.

For years, I've been passionate about creating temporary and reusable car decorations. The inspiration struck when I thought about how fun it would be for kids to decorate their parents' cars with playful magnets featuring various designs like animals, letters, and more—similar to refrigerator magnets but designed for vehicles.

Our goal was to cater to families with young children and women, making it possible to engage creatively with the artwork by easily removing, repositioning, or swapping out pieces.

Initially, the limitations of magnets and vinyl held us back. Magnets didn't fit well on modern cars and degraded over time, while vinyl was a one-shot deal, similar to a permanent tattoo. Determined to find a solution, I discovered a revolutionary adhesive fabric after extensive research. This new material is safe for your car, and it’s removable and reusable for over 100 applications. It's also tough enough to withstand car washes and extreme weather.

Now, you can dress up your car for Mardi Gras or any occasion, then simply remove and store the decals to reuse whenever you like, be it next week, next month, or next year. We've also discovered that Cover-Alls are quite durable too -- with many people leaving them on for years. Either way, it's your choice!

Who’s behind this idea?

My name is Elena Walker. I’m a graphic designer, the owner of Tchopshop Media, and an avid costume designer. I have a love of making and inventing things of all kinds but especially costumes. I’m also a dancer of Argentine tango, a proud mother and wife of a very supportive and patient man.

Many people have encouraged, inspired and helped me realize this idea, including Mae Fern Schroeder, Kaki Foley, Angela King, Ann Herren, Anne Sumich, and Courtney Kloor.
